When looking at the systems and devices that form the basis of automation, it is seen that solutions such as PLC, DCS, SCADA and RTU are used effectively. The main purpose of these different scale control systems is to process industrial automation processes more efficiently, easily and quickly.

There are two types of control that can be used in the production process. One is the Programmed Logic Controller (PLC) and the other is the Distributed Control System (DCS). Since the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Distributed Control System (DCS) act as tools for controlling complex manufacturing processes, the two terms are often used interchangeably. Although these two control systems have similar operating logic, their applications are quite different.

DCS systems, each of the objects within a facility, are used for many purposes such as data collection, data storage, graphically analyzing data, displaying data, process control, data transfer and return. To put it briefly, DCS are comprehensive systems that collect a lot of information from different places and enable distribution from a single point.
