TEIAS
Turkey Electricity Transmission Corporation is the abbreviation formed from the initials of the words. You can download the TEIAS logo from the link above. Transmission of electricity is as costly and critical as its generation. The fact that wireless transmission of electricity has not yet begun necessitates the entire load to be carried over the cable infrastructure. Although different techniques are used in the world, TEAİŞ (Turkish Electricity Transmission Company) is one of the institutions that uses high technology in its infrastructure. Difficulties in energy production necessitate a lossless transmission. TEIAS manages the electricity transmission network in Turkey.
TEİAŞ is building SDH/PDH communication infrastructure over new generation OPGW systems. This structure allows both data and voice transmission. Recently, after OPGW systems have proven their reliability, active devices in this infrastructure have started to be used for protection communication. While protection relays are communicated via SDH/PDH systems, relay communication is also backed up via the old system PLC (Kuranpotrör). With the recent OPGW investments, it has been generating new resources by leasing its long-range fiber optic lines to operators.
TEİAŞ uses measurement systems to minimize losses in the transmission of electricity. As AVD Technology, we develop systems that measure loss and leakage precisely and on-site with the solutions we have developed. In this way, TEİAŞ will be able to detect faults point by point and actively monitor the line. TEİAŞ is also an analog PLC manufacturer. Although communication over SDH/PDH systems has become widespread with the development of OPGW, the production of PLC devices continues. With its production capacity, TEİAŞ has started to adapt its analog system production to the new generation fiber optic communication.
