WHAT İS HES?

Hydroelectric Energy is the potential energy that water has with a certain amount of height. This potential energy of water is converted into mechanical energy with the help of a number of devices. Mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy and this energy is called hydroelectric energy. The facilities that produce this hydroelectric energy are called hydroelectric power plants (HES).

HEPPs are one of the most widely used power plants in the world. HEPPs, which have a 25% share in electricity generation in the world, meet 18% of electricity generation in our country. The number of HEPPs is increasing day by day and they are one of the most important power plants in electricity generation for our country.
